"...an insistently metaphysical mind-bender."
I have A New Love in the literary world.
海辺のカフカ (Kafka on the Shore) is one of the most stunning things I have ever read in my entire life.
It's weird, it's funny, it's random, it's bewitching, it's haunting, it's out of this world, it wrecks havoc with your imagination, it grips your mind and messes with your head. And I happen to adore it. No comparisions. Odd, I know, but there you go.
I'll have to rush through this one, and go out to hunt down the other Haruki Murakami novels.
I've got no choice; it's almost like an obsession.
"It's like stepping back inside a room you have fond memories of, one you haven't seen in a long time. It's only a natural feeling."
No wonder I'm such a big fan of iwritebadporn's fic, Nippon Ham Fighters. It turns out that she reads Haruki Murakami too.
