This is a world of dreams and reverie, where I felt the stars explode around me. A grass blade flashed with a gleam as it slashed open a moonbeam, and I stared back breathlessly. As mountains of fruit tumbled out, I barely had the chance to shout; a lingonberry avalanche crashed over me.

What can I say?
The BeiJing Olympics 2008 Closing Ceremony was amazing!

Fantastic choreography by Zhang Yi Mou, glittering effects and displays, stunning fireworks, lots&lots&lots of people involved. An extremely grand performance, in a nutshell.
Plus, there was Jacky Chan, Joey Yung, Karen Mok, Wang Lee Hom, Andy Lau, Kelly Chen, and Song Zu Ying. Oh, and did I mention, Rain?
Words cannot do justice to the entire spectacle. :D

I absolutely loved it; it's times like these when I'm truly proud to be chinese.

See you in London 2012!
PS. Becks, what did you think you were doing? Turning up for the bball finals was funny, okay, but what was the whole deal with popping up from the red bus and kicking a soccer ball into the crowd? I mean, that's what you flew 12 hours across the globe for, to kick a ball around?

"...an insistently metaphysical mind-bender."

I have A New Love in the literary world.
海辺のカフカ (Kafka on the Shore) is one of the most stunning things I have ever read in my entire life.

It's weird, it's funny, it's random, it's bewitching, it's haunting, it's out of this world, it wrecks havoc with your imagination, it grips your mind and messes with your head. And I happen to adore it. No comparisions. Odd, I know, but there you go.

I'll have to rush through this one, and go out to hunt down the other Haruki Murakami novels.
I've got no choice; it's almost like an obsession.
"It's like stepping back inside a room you have fond memories of, one you haven't seen in a long time. It's only a natural feeling."

No wonder I'm such a big fan of iwritebadporn's fic, Nippon Ham Fighters.
It turns out that she reads Haruki Murakami too.

"Is it okay if I say what I'm feeling right now?
I don't know what's going to happen in the future. But right now, what I'm feeling is not a lie. I can say that with confidence.
For me...as long as it's you saying it, it doesn't matter how slow you're saying it--I'll still listen.
If you can't talk over the phone, then I'll come to see you...just like this.
I'm not a dolphin, and you're not a dolphin either...
If you want to walk...no matter how slow it'll be, I'll walk with you.
Right now, I might not be that reliable. But maybe I'll be able to help one day.
Things can't go back to the way they were before, but there's a feeling that links us together.
I don't think we're living in different worlds.
I... With regards to you…
I like you. Maybe."

I reckon I'd actually like the Lithuanian basketball team. If they hadn't trampled all over China's in the semi-finals. Damn you, Team Lithuania, go back to your tiny speck of an island where you actually belong.

People project images of themselves. The reality is something else entirely.
Image and reality are separate phenomena. What lives and lurks beneath the surface of a beautiful face does not necessarily bear any resemblance to the face itself. There is no correspondence between what people say they are and what they really are.
Everyone wears a mask, or a series of masks. The persona is an instrument of deception, because the picture that people project out into the world is not reality, but a distortion of reality.

title: Up Against The Wall
AT 12:21 pm

It's over
Look out below
And I'm wasted, I still taste it
Yeah it's so hard to let go
So breathe in now
And breathe it out
The forecast, a car crash
It's looking like another...

Breakdown, rebound
This could be my last goodbye
You cross your heart, I hope to die
And I can't deny your eyes
You know I try to read between the lines
I saw a warning sign
And then you threw me up against the wall
Who said that it's better to have loved and lost?
I wish that I had never loved at all

No rewinds
No second times
And I won't break
I won't waste, everything you left behind
So don't follow
Just let it go
The weather's, been better
Don't let it be another...

Breakdown, rebound
This could be my last goodbye
You cross your heart, I hope to die
And I can't deny your eyes
You know I try to read between the lines
I saw a warning sign
And then you threw me up against the wall
Who said that it's better to have loved and lost?
I wish that I had never loved at all

All the nights you spent sitting nowhere out there on your own
All the nights I waited by the phone when you were going in alone
And all your different faces and all your different ways are making everything a mess
And all I'm saying is that all your different places and all the complications led to this

And I can't deny your eyes
You know I try to read between the lines
I saw a warning sign
And then you threw me up against the wall
Who said that it's better to have loved and lost?
I wish that I had never loved
And I can't deny your eyes
You know I try to read between the lines
I saw a warning sign
And then you threw me up against the wall
Who said that it's better to have loved and lost?
I wish that I had never loved at all
(Never loved at all)

I've finally got broadband!

I'm over the moon!

I can finally log on to MSN!

I can finally use the new version of Facebook!

Nothing can spoil my mood right now!

Well, except for the fact that the internet speed is about the same as a crippled snail lugging three shells around. But I've gotten used to not expecting too much out of life.
I shall (try) not to whine. Too much.
Heh.

My eyes are super dry, and I'm blinking and yawning frantically, trying to squeeze some tears out. I need my eyedrops! Ugh, annoying shiat.

It sounded like someone just fired at something outside. Whutthefecks? There are irritating popping and blipping and twinkling sounds coming from the guy sitting on my left. Shut off the sound on your fecking laptop please. The guy on my right is playing random games designed for violent three year olds. Last I glanced over (he was clicking away like his life depended on it), he was punching a virtual old geezer. Good one, keep it up.

System booting me off in less than 5 minutes.
Somehow I've no motivation to blog nowadays. Its probably got to do with my life being so mundane right now that there's nothing worth blogging about. How depressing. I have no life luh.
I need ny life back, but I've no idea how to get it.

I'm off to play the Impossible Quiz. Suits my life just fine.

Dear you,

Oh really?
I'm sorry then, I just like to live dangerously and tread on landmines.
Seems like I've trodden on your tail instead.
Nothing either of us can do though; I'm on the other side of the world!
So there to you.

PS. Okay, I still love you though. Oh well.
